DESCRIPTION:June Frances Adornments will be holding a Trunk Show at BDC this Friday\, Saturday\, and Sunday. \nJune has an extensive background in many artistic mediums\, but beading has given her the opportunity to create something unique to her: Cording. \nIn her own words: \nArtist’s Statement \n“I have sensed the colors\, texture\, and vibrancy found in nature and the physical world since I was a young girl\, growing up in a very artistic family. \nMy avenues of artistic expression included bead work\, (both as sculpture and jewelry)\, painting\, dioramas\, collage\, found art sculpture\, art rocks\, and recycled clothing embellishment. \nIn the early 1980’s I was inspired by a French Canadian man named Papillion.  His beaded art featured extraordinary color combinations\, using the peyote stitch.  I have discovered new techniques as well\, as the years passed\, studying with Nan C Meinhart to learn both right-angle bead weaving and  N’dbele\, an African bead art. \nFor the past dozen or so years\, I have been making my own cording which I use to create necklaces that become unique\, one-of- a-kind pieces.  These necklaces have received wide spread appreciation and are much loved by their owners. \nI am now in my 75th year\, and my eyes are not what they once were\, so I am passing on most of my carefully selected beads.  I hope you find many treasures to enjoy in the varied stock from my delightful years of beading art.” \n  \nJune Frances \nhttp://beadsatdusticreek.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/June-Frances-Slide-Show-Final-Cut2.mp4

DESCRIPTION:Did you go to Tucson this year? We didn’t either. But Theodore\, of Janu Gems\, did go and brought back some wonderful semi-precious beads. The Tucson show is world renown\, and just finished it’s 2017 run on February 12\, less than 10 days ago. Still on his way home\, Theodore is stopping at BDC for an unusual mid-week trunk show\, this Wednesday and Thursday\, Feb 22 and 23. To make this special opportunity easier\, we’re going to stay open WEDNESDAY evening\, until 7PM. Thursday will be regular shop hours. \nA few of the new items are in the slide show below. DESCRIPTION:This Weekend\, starting tomorrow\, Friday thru Sunday\, we will be hosting 5 unique local Portland Artists. \nBeautiful “Wear-ables” by Judee Moonbeam.  Her bags\, hats\, scarfs are just stunning statements. \nDavid V Horste:  Lapidary extraordinaire.   Pendant Focal Beads in Colors\, Textures\, Materials almost too numerous to count.  David distills his gift of gab into Focal Beads that are sure-fire conversation starters. \nSeth Fullerton creates beautiful ladies skirts and dresses that could be called ‘retro – chic” design\, using wonderful woolens and then fully lining them with silk.  Who does that anymore? \nSusan Borts:  A Bead Artists\, who uses beads like paint.  They don’t have necklaces at Nordstrom’s  that make a statement like Susan’s.  Dusti received one of Susan’s pieces\, aptly named\, “Crocodile Tears” for Valentines day.  She Loves it! \nSine Morse:  I never knew that Collage could be so exciting.  Sine give her pieces a 3-D effect (No\, they really are 3-d.  There is no “effect”.)  You will be charmed.  I guarantee it. \n  \nHere is a link to the video slide-show that displays a little more detail.  (I.E.
