DESCRIPTION:N!X is the brand name of the Belgian designer\nNiki Passenier’s exclusive line of fine silver beads\nand findings.  Based in Chiang Mai\, Niki has been\ncollaborating closely with the traditional\nsilversmiths from the Karen Hill Tribe in northern\nThailand for more than twenty years.  Today\, Niki is still in partnership with the same families of tribal artisans whom she started out with in the late ’90s. Her long-standing relationship with the Karen\nartisans bear testimony to her adherence to the\nprinciples of fair trade long before it became a\nbuzzword.  The artisans handcraft Niki’s unique\ndesigns of fine silver beads\, pendants\, and\ncomponents\, which she uses to create exquisite\npieces of jewelry.  Niki’s partnership with the tribal\nsilversmiths have been instrumental in developing \na sustainable cottage industry for the Karen Hill\nTribe that allows them to work from home while\nproviding a meaningful livelihood for their families. \n  \nLink: N!X Site w/ Beads & Finished Piece Designs.
